Are you ready to explore the great outdoors in 2025? We’re challenging YOU to lace up your boots, hit the trails, and complete 100 hikes in the year! Whether you’re a seasoned hiker or just starting out, this challenge is for everyone. The #BPDSO100Challenge is all about embracing nature, connecting with the world around us, and showing up for yourself and your community.
Why take on the #BPDSO100Challenge?
- Reconnect with Nature: Hiking is the perfect way to immerse yourself in natural beauty and disconnect from the everyday hustle. Whether it’s a local trail or an adventure to a new spot, each hike is an opportunity to rediscover the peace and clarity that comes with being outdoors.
- Boost Your Health: Hiking has major benefits for your physical health—improving cardiovascular fitness, building strength, and increasing stamina. Plus, it’s a great way to reduce stress, clear your mind, and boost your mental health.
- Explore New Places: Each trail you take is a chance to uncover new views, discover hidden gems, and experience the outdoors in a way that’s uniquely yours. Every hike is a chance to step outside of your comfort zone and grow.
- Community: Be part of a movement that celebrates the Black outdoors community! This challenge is not just about hitting 100 hikes, it’s about sharing the beauty of nature, showing others it’s for us too, and building a network of like-minded adventurers.
How to Join:
- Start Hiking: Whether you’ve got a favorite trail or you’re exploring somewhere new, get outdoors! There are no rules—hike as much or as little as you want, just aim to get in 100 hikes by the end of the year.
- Document Your Journey: Snap photos, write about your experience, or share your favorite moments from the trails. We want to see what inspires you along the way!
- Tag Us: As you complete your hikes, post about it on social media and tag @B.P.D.S.O using the hashtag #BPDSO100Challenge. We’ll be sharing your stories and celebrating your progress!
- Share the Love: Encourage your friends, family, and community to join too! The more the merrier—we want to create a movement of Black hikers connecting with nature and each other.
Some Tips for Success:
- Set Goals: Try to hit a certain number of hikes each month. Breaking it down into manageable chunks will help you stay on track.
- Mix It Up: Explore different environments—mountains, forests, lakes, beaches, or urban trails. Variety will keep you motivated!
- Join the Community: Keep up with the hashtag #BPDSO100Challenge to connect with fellow hikers, share your progress, and find new trail recommendations.
