Empowering Communities, Embracing Nature

At BPDSO, we're on a mission to redefine the narrative of outdoor recreation for people of African descent. We believe that everyone deserves equal access to the wonders of nature, adventure, and community. Through our commitment to equity, inclusivity, and empowerment, we're breaking down barriers and fostering a new era of outdoor engagement.

Our Mission

Our mission is to create, promote, and maintain welcoming environments that allow people of African descent to come together, explore, engage, and find joy in the outdoors. Through our commitment to community building, we aim to connect and inspire personal growth, while promoting environmental and communal stewardship. By offering a range of activities and resources, we strive to empower individuals to embrace the great outdoors, promoting a sense of pride, resilience, and physical and mental well-being.

Why it Matters

We are committed to confronting these obstacles directly, striving to forge safe and inclusive environments for all individuals within the BPDSO community.
