DESCRIPTION:Join the BPDSO for a beautiful hike through the stunning Anza Borrego Desert State Park as we explore the Palm Canyon Oasis! \n\n\n\nAnza Borrego Desert State Park is the largest state park in California\, covering over 600\,000 acres of diverse desert landscapes. The park is home to a variety of plants and animals\, including the elusive big horn sheep that the park is named for. \n\n\n\nOn this hike\, we will trek through the scenic Palm Canyon Oasis\, a lush oasis of palm trees surrounded by towering rock formations. This hidden gem offers a peaceful and serene escape from the desert heat. \n\n\n\nDon’t miss this opportunity to explore one of California’s most beautiful natural wonders and possibly catch a glimpse of the iconic big horn sheep. You may also mark “Going” to this event on our BPDSO Facebook page. \n\n\n\nHow much does it cost? \n\n\n\nThere is no fee for the hike. However\, there is a $10 park day usage fee payable at the campground entrance upon arrival. \n\n\n\nHow strenuous is the hike? \n\n\n\nThe trail is approximately 3 miles in length and is considered easy to moderately difficult. Some scrambling may be required. The group will travel at a slower pace\, and our experienced group facilitators will ensure that no one is left behind. \n\n\n\nWhat should I bring? \n\n\n\nWe recommend you dress in layers in comfortable hiking attire with sturdy footwear.
